Security

Operational records deserve serious care.

Certificates, crew records and inspection evidence are sensitive. Here is how Bluebase is built to protect them — in plain language.

Principles

  1. 01

    Access by role and scope

People see and change only what their role allows — crewing officers, fleet managers, compliance officers, auditors and viewers each have different permissions.

A role can apply to the whole company, one department, one vessel, or only a person's own records. Access can be time-limited.

  2. 02

    A tamper-evident audit trail

Every change to a vessel, crew record, document or compliance action is logged with who made it and when — and so is every refused attempt.

Entries are append-only and chained together, so an edited or deleted entry is detectable.

  3. 03

    Your company's data, kept separate

Each company's records are isolated from every other company using Bluebase.

Separation is enforced in the database itself, not only in application code.

  4. 04

    Private documents

Uploaded certificates and reports are stored privately. Data is encrypted in transit and designed to be encrypted at rest.

Downloads use links that expire within minutes and only work for people allowed to see the document.

  5. 05

    Individual accounts, no shared logins

Everyone signs in with their own account, so access can be granted and revoked person by person.

Passwords are never stored — only a strong one-way hash.

  6. 06

    Your data stays yours

Your records belong to your organisation, and Bluebase is designed so you can export them at any time.

Customer data is kept apart from demo environments. Product screens on this site use fictional data.
